ISS Group Supply Chain and Procurement is about to embark on a highly exciting journey of decarbonizing its global supply chain, and is consequently looking for an experienced profile to help spearhead the journey by establishing industry-leading supply chain carbon transparency and tracking.

Location: Warsaw, Poland or Chennai, India

Language: English

ISS has ambitions of reaching Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2040 and has recently submitted its Science-Based Targets for approval. The next step is to start shaping a global execution program, and as a major part of our emissions comes from our supply chain, we now need to build the global supply chain carbon transparency and tracking capability to help guide our journey.

ISS already has a strong global supplier spend visibility solution that captures transaction data from 50+ source systems across 30 countries, however the decarbonization ambitions requires much more granular and precise data from our 50.000+ suppliers across the globe. This is a massive undertaking, which requires us to be able to find “the needle in the haystack”, identify emission hotspots, and based on that target specific supplier categories for data improvement and enrichment. Essentially, this transformation journey will, in addition to monetary spend, introduce a new “currency” in our Supply Chain & Procurement function: Carbon!

Responsibilities

As a Supply Chain Decarbonisation Data Analyst, you will become part of ISS’ central Digital Procurement Team who manages and maintains the global backbone infrastructure of Procurement systems, tools, data, and reporting aimed at providing transparency and decision-support to the 500+ employees across our global Supply Chain & Procurement community.

The Supply Chain Decarbonization Data Analyst is brand-new position who will play a major enabling role for the wider program execution by initially helping define and build the carbon emission transparency and tracking methodology and capability and continuously improve carbon data quality. The tasks include:

  • Support with establishing a sound CO2 measurement methodology and recalibrating the baseline continuously based on this
  • Analyse input data and system data to ensure all reporting criteria are consistently met
  • Ensure data/information is delivered/captured on time and in full
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to improve data granularity in our Sievo solution and associated ERP and consuming systems
  • Maintain and improve emission factor mapping between our spend categories and reference data sets
  • Ensure that Sievo and all associated systems are able to capture data at sufficient granularity and quality to support routine carbon data management and reporting
  • Identify and resolve data issues in a timely and consistent mannner
  • Develop a prioritised roadmap for continuous improvement and execution

Personal & Professional Qualifications

You are a passionate, talented, and experienced carbon data analyst who sees this role as a unique opportunity to take part in ISS’ global supply chain decarbonization journey, and while you possess second-to-none data abilities, you recognize that the true value of data happens in the intersection between people, systems, and processes.

The specific requirements for the position are:

  • Education could be within IT, Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Engineering, however experience is more important than education
  • 5-7+ years of post-graduation experience with advanced data, analysis, reporting, including hands-on experience with leveraging automation to drive efficiencies, accessibility, and user-friendliness
  • Experienced in building data forecasting models, data visualization e.g. Power Bi/ Tableau and in programming languages, e.g. Python
  • Previous experience in data collection and reporting on Scope 3 carbon emissions is an added advantage, as well as knowledge of GRI protocols, DEFRA, carbon reporting standards
