Main purpose for the position

Our advanced analytics team is looking for a new data engineer. A data engineer in the advanced analytics team manages the data pipelines and the data pipeline jobs together with a team of both internal and external talent. The key goal of the role is to focus on getting the data to flow from a to b within the target architecture and requirements for the data solutions. The data engineer will be working together with the rest of the data team to ensure that the data solutions are supporting the business purpose and are of high quality, secure and scalable.  

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Defining and ensuring data pipelines are created and managed to ensure data delivery for advanced analytics
• Ensuring that the data pipeline framework is implemented and managed in the data platform
• Bridging the data and the technology requirements during advanced analytics projects
• Continuously improving the data pipelines and the data architecture for the pipelines to ensure consistency and quality in data delivery
• Ensure that data are modelled and processed according to architecture and requirements both functional and non-functional  
• Documenting practices for good data engineering in the data solutions

Professional Qualifications:

• Experience in working with data engineering and/or analytics engineering in professional environment
• Documented professional experience working as a data engineer, machine learning engineer or developer or similar role working on data engineering and/or machine learning projects
• Ideal candidate has an academic background with a degree in one of the following subjects: computer science, information technology, databases, or software development. Other academic backgrounds can be relevant if coupled with an interest in data and technology.
• Strong coding skills in Python, and potentially also Java or Scala
• Experience working with Azure data services or data stores
• Experience working with data science platform like Azure ML, Databricks or Dataiku

Personal Qualifications:

• Interpersonal ability to maintain effective communication with multiple people from different departments
• Strong self-starter and proactive in identifying needs and opportunities for innovation and business value creation from data
• Openminded & adaptable
• Good problem-solving skills & Good communicator
