Student Assistant, Group Communications

Job description

Group Communications is at the heart of the business, based in the ISS global headquarters in Copenhagen. We support the day-to-day business and promote ISS globally. ISS has an open and innovative culture with a high degree of empowerment and accountability. Your key responsibilities will be:


Internal Communications (IC) Community Management

  • Responsible for issuing group IC activity calendar invitations 
  • Responsible for maintaining group IC calendar 
  • Maintain Internal Communication distribution lists.


Internal channel and content management

  • Responsible for uploading all Internal Communication video and comms material content to internal communication channels like Intranet, ISS TV, Yammer, Sharepoint, etc.
  • Support newsletter creation by compiling given content into appropriate online templates and issuing according to the group IC plan.
  • Responsible for managing the Group and HQ intranet (News and internal pages)
  • Management of channels (Sitecore, 23video, MS Teams, Apsis) as tools for IC in liaison with IT.
  • Be an integral part of organisation-wide communication projects like Group Leadership Conference, OneISS, Cultural Transformation etc.
  • Be a part of the editorial setup for internal stories - writing and publishing stories
  • Monitoring internal communication ‘group mailboxes’
  • Monitoring IC communication channel activities and data analysis to support monthly reporting. 


External communication / media relations

  • Support in driving the external PR-community, managing the yearly content calendar, meeting planning, etc.
  • Assisting in content creation and distributing press releases and newsletters
  • Preparing quarterly and global media analysis reports
  • Preparing weekly media coverage reports (Meltwater, Infomedia)



Personal & Professional Qualifications

  • Has excellent English writing and speaking skills
  • Is self-motivated, flexible, and reliable
  • Works independently
  • Has a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Has good stakeholder management skills
  • Can work approximately 15 hours a week (minimum)
  • Has experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign (is an advantage)
  • Is a skilled IT user - Has the aptitude to learn or has knowledge of IT internal communication platforms like Sitecore, Sharepoint, MS Teams, Apsis.
  • Is a Bachelor’s degree student or has just started out on a Master’s in a relevant field of study.
