Main purpose of the position
For the Global Enterprise Architecture (EA) team in ISS, we are looking for an experienced Solution Architect focusing on ISS’s holistic and end-2-end solution concepts and solution designs by building and governing global capabilities and processes.
You will join the growing Global Enterprise Architecture team currently consisting of colleagues located in ISS Corporate Headquarters in Copenhagen (Denmark), Warsaw (Poland) and other international ISS locations. As part of the team of Solution Architects (SA), you will serve as technical expert responsible for design & implementation of application and enterprise platforms amongst others in the functional domains of our core service products and solutions. The SA team is involved in all strategic IT-programs and projects and provides guidance & governance for solution delivery and taking responsibility of non-functional requirements.
Success Criteria
As our experienced Solution Architect, you will work with cross-functional teams to select, design, and build new digital solutions as well as extensions to our core solutions in our service products. These solutions will be based on “off-the-shelf” industry standard products as well as cloud-native based components based on technologies such as microservices, containers, REST-based APIs and the extension and enhancement of SaaS and on-premises tools. The Solution Architect will be responsible for solution strategy, defining the solution using leading or bleeding-edge concepts and technologies, which will provide a differentiating service for ISS, enabling competitive edge for our customers.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for the architectural design of new digital solutions based on digital components (microservices) in different areas especially for our Food business
- Review business requirements specifications (BRS) to ensure alignment between customer expectations and current or future capability
- Analyzing and designing of technical, application and technology architectures in alignment with the To-Be architecture principles (i.e. Global Food IT landscape) for delivery on one or more projects
- Defines architecture-compliant Solution Strategy and Solution Design following architecture principles and technology standards, guidelines
- Verifies and addresses non-functional requirements e.g., scalability, performance, security during development of concrete, detailed solution architecture plans
- Conduct feasibility studies of potential solutions to fulfil existing business requirements
- Enforces standardization, smooth integration to existing IT landscape
- Provides architecture diagrams, specifications to deliver and manage future solution, creates, and maintains respective documentation
- Strongly collaborate with internal software development teams & governance of outsourced suppliers involved in the area providing supervision and guidance
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing initiatives
- Assess the current digital component portfolio and build repeatable architectural patterns providing guidance to internal and external parties and ensuring the successful implementations and uptake of best practices
Key qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in either internal role (e.g., solution architect / lead developer) or external role (e.g., sales engineering, consulting)
- Several years of experience related to IT Management or other information technology solutions architecture role
- Ideally experience with range of applications in the Food (e.g. Menu Management Systems) and Procurement area (e.g., Ariba, Coupa) as well as web technologies and the respective interfaces and APIs
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in designing IT solutions, development skills and experience (e.g. Java/Python/JavaScript) is a plus
- Knowledge of various Integration patterns and IT Security best practices (OWASP) is a must
- Knowledge and understating of software development lifecycle in DevOps environment
- Proven ability to learn new skills and technology quickly and independently
- Platform and Architecture technical skills and knowledge of emerging technologies/platforms
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
