Job Role as Data Operations Engineer: 

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Data Operations Engineer to join our team.In this role, the focus will be on the operation and support of our main internal Platform for Data Ingestion, providing first- and second-level support to ensure data workflows run smoothly and behave as expected.

The position involves driving and coordinating deployments and performing data onboarding tasks to ensure seamless integration and continuous improvement of data operations.

Additionally, It's expected that this role works in close collaboration with the development team, contributing to lightweight development and coding activities that enhance automation, reliability, and the overall efficiency of the platform. The role also takes an active part in monitoring the platform, developing and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems/dashboards to proactively identify and address potential issues.

What will you do:

  • Onboarding internal stakeholders (systems) into the Platform. ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness.
  • Oversee day-to-day data operations by monitoring data pipelines, proactively identifying issues, and ensuring continued reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data ingestion and transformation/mapping issues, collaborating closely with engineering teams to implement sustainable fixes and operational improvements.
  • Maintain and optimize end-to-end data ingestion workflows to support scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain low-code data applications and operational tools that enhance internal data workflows.
  • Perform ongoing data quality and validation checks, ensuring adherence to data contracts and operational standards.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering teams to enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting systems, contributing to improved observability and reduced incident response times.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive operational documentation, runbooks, and process guides with full  autonomy.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize data processes, streamline workflows, and drive operational best practices.
  • Coordinate and execute the operational deployment of new data ingestions and updates to data contracts, ensuring smooth and controlled rollouts.
  • Deliver training and enablement sessions to internal users, enhancing understanding and effective use of data platform tools and processes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides — working with autonomy and ownership.

 

What makes you fit:

  • University degree or equivalent education/training — preferably with an engineering, mathematics, or related technical background.
  • 1–3 years of experience in data-focused roles (Data Support, Data Operations, Data Analysis, or similar).
  • Experience with Databricks / Spark and/or Azure data resources (Power BI is a strong plus).
  • Strong interest in the data world, with motivation to grow within enterprise-level data frameworks and tooling.
  • Ideal for junior/associate Data Engineers looking to expand their skills in a modern, cloud-based data ecosystem.
  • Analytical mindset with curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a drive for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
