Main purpose of the position
This role will support the design and drive the implementation of risk and control strategy across global service lines and client accounts.
The role holder will work closely with service line teams and the client(s) to ensure material risks are being managed in accordance with ISS / our client(s) risk appetite levels. Working in close collaboration with ISS Group Risk supporting the drive the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) to ensure it translates into a working operational strategy that drives business value for ISS and its clients.
What you’ll do:
- Facilitating and managing the delivery of global control testing across ISS and clients’ accounts
- Establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with ISS and Barclays colleagues across global service lines
- Executing testing reviews as per the annual control assurance schedule
- Monitoring overall governance and risk position, ensuring deficiencies from testing reviews are logged and appropriately mitigated/or accepted.
- Developing and driving improvements to assurance processes, procedures and methodology
- Making sure our processes, test scripts, procedures and methodology are consistent, up to date and fully aligned with our broader policy framework, and any respective legal or regulatory requirements
- Provide risk reporting global, service line and client insights from testing reviews
- Identify opportunities to streamline or make control operating or testing more efficient or robust
Key qualifications:
- A good understanding of operational risk, controls and assurance. Proven track record in an audit or risk role would be preferable but not essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative
- Critical thinker with an ability to identify issues, causes, effects and trends.
- Drive and ambition. Taking responsibility for self learning and thrives on working in a coaching culture
- Ability to adapt to meet stakeholder and client needs
