Pest Control Operator

Pest Control Specialist



This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and offers a competitive compensation package.


Key Purpose

Pest Control Specialists unwanted creatures, such as roaches, rats, ants, bedbugs, and termites that infest buildings and surrounding areas. The Pet Control Specialist also provides preventative treatments that comply with EPA, state and local codes involving the use of chemical insecticides and pesticides.

Ideal Candidate Experience


  • Must be licensed as a Commercial Certified Pesticide Applicator

Certification/License in NJDEP Category 6B Right of Way, 7A General and Household Pest Control, 7B Termites and other wood destroying insects, 8D Cooling (tower) Water Pest


  • Control
  • Must have a valid State Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation for FAA/WJHTC Badge
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills.



Key Accountabilities


  • Inspect buildings and premises for signs of pests or infestation.
  • Determine the type of treatment needed to eliminate pests.
  • Measure the dimensions of the area needing treatment.
  • Use baits and set traps to remove or kill pests.
  • Apply pesticides in and around buildings and other structures.
  • Design and carry out pest management plans.
  • Knowledgeable about pest management techniques and pest biology in order to perform effective work.
  • Drive trucks equipped with power spraying equipment.
  • Estimate the exposure of pest treatment to building occupants and notifies of any potential

hazard. Posts hazards, as needed.

  • Maintain records of all chemicals used in treatment.
  • Create barriers to prevent pests from entering a building.
  • All other duties as assigned.
